RNGdle Dunes Badge: Alternating Rises and Falls

Dunes is the original name

The original badge page is titled Dunes, although a search query may say Dune. Its condition reads “Rises and falls keep alternating (flat stretches allowed).” When checked September 24, 2026, the page listed Common, 364 EP and 27.5% probability. The value belongs to this badge; it is not the roll’s total EP.

Read the digits from left to right and compare neighboring values. In the page’s terms, the direction changes from rise to fall and back, or fall to rise and back. Equal neighboring digits create a flat stretch, which the official wording expressly allows. A pattern such as 2 → 5 → 3 → 6 illustrates alternating directions; 2 → 5 → 5 → 3 illustrates why a flat step should not automatically be treated as disqualifying. These are explanations of the phrase, not confirmed badge awards.

What the short rule does not settle

The official page does not explain every boundary: how many direction changes are required for a short number, whether leading zeros matter internally, or how ties at the edges are evaluated. We have not reproduced its detector. To decide a specific roll, follow the badge detail on the original RNGdle result rather than relying only on a shape sketch here.
